Valve Confirms VR Game 'Half Life: Alyx' will be Unveiled this Thursday

While this rumour does seem to come out of no-where, Valve did also state that they were planning on releasing a "flagship VR game" this year and honestly, what's more of a flagship game than Half-Life? Titled Half-Life: Alyx, it looks to have ties with the earlier games, but will present a new level of VR interaction not seen before with the series.

This morning's rumors are based on a supposed interview between Geoff Keighley and a development team at Valve for what could be a Game Awards reveal segment. Gamers without expensive VR equipment may be hoping for a full Half-Life subsidiary they can play on their current consoles.

In case you've forgotten, Alyx is a prominent character in Half-Life 2.

Trudeau says refusing to self-isolate after travelling is 'dangerous'
Last week, Ottawa announced Canada and the United States had agreed to turn back anyone trying to cross the border on either side. Morneau said more than 2,000 Canada Revenue Agency workers are being redeployed to help get the employment benefits flowing.

Valve has confirmed that Half-Life: Alyx is real.

On November 18, Valve announced on Twitter their new game, but it doesn't include any 3 in its name, it's called Half-Life: Alyx. The game sounds like it's built from the ground up for VR, and games specifically designed for virtual reality headsets and hand-tracking controllers rarely translate well to traditional control schemes. The furhter announcement of the game should be later made on Thursday, possibly including whether a rumored March 2020 release date. Some of the snippets make it sound as if an official announcement could be right around the corner, while the first trailer will be revealed at The Game Awards 2019 on December 12th. The creation of Dog, her sidekick in the first game, the initial years of the human resistance, and the thrilling transformation of Barney from a former security guard to intrepid resistance fighter (Half-Life: Barney doesn't have the same ring, no matter how you slice it). Just buy the Half-Life pack on Steam and play the damn games. The bargaining followed, and after a long depression, all but a small core accepted that we'd probably never see Gordon Freeman in action again. You know what I'm talking about. Some people will be pleased, others frustrated, but very few surprised by the few details we have at this point on Valve's upcoming VR game, Half-Life: Alyx.

While it's unknown yet if Half-Life: Alyx will be available on specific headsets, we can guess from the tweet that it'll at least be available on the SteamVR platform. We will receive more information this Thursday at 10 am Pacific Time according to the Tweet.
