The Walking Dead season finale postponed: AMC makes sad announcement

Even The Walking Dead has had to bow to Coronavirus pressure, as the season 10 finale won't be ready to view in its scheduled time slot.

Last week the network said it would also be postponing the launch of the spin-off The Walking Dead: World Beyond which was due to drop on April 12.

Gurira's departure from the zombie series was confirmed last February, but was reported to only appear in a handful of episodes for the show's next season.

AMC announced that the post-apocalyptic series would have to close its 10th season with the 15th episode, on April 5, posting a message to fans that the finale will air later this year.

NY governor warns COVID-19 infections 'spiking'
Cuomo said people's blood will be tested to see if they have developed antibodies to COVID-19. "Let's help each other". Trump later hit back at Cuomo for "complaining". "If we don't have the ventilators in 14 days, it does no good".

That means season 10 will end with its penultimate episode next month - but they aim to air the planned finale as a special episode later in the year. The episode is titled The Tower and will focus on the final battle of The Whisperers.

It also will offer the first eight episodes of Season 10 for free on AMC.com and the AMC app after the April 5 episode through May 1. "Please follow us at@WalkingDead_AMC for updates", the broadcasting channel added. And I thought TV show seasons were done and finished by the time said season airs, not still working on them two episodes before the finale.

That premiere will also happen later this year, but the network hasn't offered a specific date when it will air now.

The episode followed Michonne being imprisoned and drugged on a remote island by a stranger named Virgil (Kevin Carroll), which lead to hallucinations where she saw her former lover Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln).
