Neil Diamond Remixes 'Sweet Caroline' for Coronavirus Times: 'Hands…Washing Hands'

The artist began performing the sing-a-long favorite, but fans of his would quickly notice that he gave some of the words to "Sweet Caroline" a coronavirus twist.

Over the weekend, legendary singer-songwriter Neil Diamond brightened everyone's spirits with his new take on the iconic song "Sweet Caroline". The tweaked version of this song is being well received by his fans all over the world.

Beginning his at-home performance of the song, viewers may have noticed a couple of changes to the song's lyrics.

Neil Diamond is one of them. Diamond captioned the video with some of the updated lyrics.

Before releasing the amusing "Sweet Caroline", remix, Diamond - who recently announced his retirement after being diagnosed with Parkinson's disease - offered encouragement to those at the front lines of the pandemic on Saturday.

In his televised address to the nation, Modi said his government's priority is to save the life of every Indian. He, however, said, "We are making efforts that there is no difficulty in daily life".

In the pre-chorus, however, Diamond cheekily changed up the lyrics to reflect the importance of hygiene and social distancing: "Hands... washing hands / Reaching out ... don't touch me..."

Diamond's clever endeavor to help stop the coronavirus pandemic comes after singer Rihanna donated $5 million to coronavirus relief through her Clara Lionel Foundation.

Since it was posted on Saturday evening, Diamond's video has already amassed more than 830,000 views.

Stay home, cover your cough, sneeze into a tissue, avoid sick people, and limit contact with other people. You should avoid touching another person.

"Wash yer hands, ya little f**kers!" he declared.
