Reports of swine flu and bird flu are also being reported from India and other countries, but there is a shocking news of a man tested positive for hantavirus-another deadly virus- has come from China.

A man in China has reportedly died after catching hantavirus.

About 30% of the deer mice tested showed evidence of infection with hantavirus.

The bus, which set out from Cangyuan County, had 33 people aboard, including two drivers, one medical staff, and 30 migrant workers.

No human-to-human transmission of this virus has been found except for Argentina in 1996 when it was suggested that "strains of hantaviruses in South America may be transmissible from person to person", according to USA -based center for Disease Control and Prevention. "The hantaviruses that cause human illness in the United States can not be transmitted from one person to another", the CDC says on its website.

The presence of an unusually large number of Rodent in and around the home remains the primary risk for hantavirus spread.

People around the world have been closely following the developments around the coronavirus pandemic that has seen hundreds of thousands being infected and claimed more than 16,000 lives. The disease can be caused when a person comes in contact with the virus by touching objects or eating food or saliva that has been released in the air.

Therefore, an important part of their mission was to trap as many different species of rodents living in the Four Corners region to find the particular type of rodent that carried the virus. Even healthy individuals are at risk for HPS infection if exposed to the virus.

Hantavirus patients also have symptoms of nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea. The hantavirus infects rodents, they become carriers of the disease and infect people via their droppings, saliva and urine.

There is no vaccine or treatment available for hantavirus infection, as per the CDC. These may include coughing and shortness of breath. "Other hantaviruses, known as "Old World" hantaviruses, are found mostly in Europe and Asia and may cause hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS)", the CDC website said.

"In Chile and Argentina, rare cases of person-to-person transmission have occurred" in the case of one strand named Andes virus, the CDC says.
