Panthers signing XFL standout QB P.J. Walker

The Carolina Panthers are expected to sign free-agent quarterback and former XFL star P.J.

Earlier this offseason, the Broncos, Seahawks and Cardinals all reached out to Houston's XFL team to inquire about the 25-year-old quarterback.

The level of competition he faced certainly deserves an asterisk, but Walker (5-foot-11, 216 pounds) looked like the most dynamic QB in the XFL this past season.

Walker was the XFL's leading passer and front-runner for the MVP award with the Houston Roughnecks before the season was canceled.

Coronavirus stimulus bill fails to pass in second vote
Senate Democrats have said the final product of the GOP-backed bill didn't meet their minimum demands. Discussions continued Monday morning between both sides and Mnuchin.

His ties with newly-appointed Panthers head coach Matt Rhule date back to their time together at Temple, where Walker threw a career 10,668 passing yards for 74 touchdowns over four seasons from 2013-2016. His arrival will not threaten Teddy Bridgewater's current status as the projected starter.

They still have Cam Newton dangling on the roster as they try to find a place to trade him before they have to release him, along with Kyle Allen and Will Grier.

This is a great signing.
