Mobile Connect launching this week with $15 smartphone plan

So, T-Mobile and Metro by T-Mobile have made a decision to roll out those new rate plans starting this Wednesday, March 25. For 60 days after customers activate, it's just $15 per month for unlimited talk and text plus 2GB of high-speed smartphone data. For that price, you'll receive unlimited talk and text and just 2GB of high-speed 5G data.

As you can imagine, the early launch was largely prompted by the ongoing and rapidly spreading coronavirus outbreak, although in all fairness, we also have to highlight the creation of a robust "New T-Mobile" rival for Verizon and AT&T is facing nearly no obstacles anymore, looking like a simple matter of days. That is a great feature to have, as we're going to be using more and more data with 5G becoming more readily available.

"Right now, having a reliable, low-priced connection is absolutely crucial for Americans, and with many facing financial strain, time is of the essence", T-Mobile CEO John Legere said in a statement.

On top of this, T-Mobile Connect also has an Annual Data Upgrade.

"New and current Metro customers with any voice line can also get a free 8" tablet (via rebate redemption) with a $15 unlimited tablet data plan. T-Mobile has also teamed up with YouTube to give wireless customers a free two-month subscription to YouTube Premium starting March 24, to give consumers one more thing to do to encourage them to stay inside.

Stock market futures tumble as stimulus bill hits roadblock in Congress
Republicans normally hold a slim 53-47 majority in the chamber, short of the 60 votes they need to advance most legislation. The loss comes after stock market futures fell overnight Sunday into Monday.

T-Mobile Connect will cost $15 per month plus tax, as mentioned already.

Metro is also offering up some cheaper plans for those that need to spend less on their bills. Half the price of our lowest-ever priced smartphone plan.

The new T-Mobile Connect plan was a Sprint merger-related promise that T-Mobile is accelerating.

Finally, MetroSmart Hotspot devices will be half off and the $35 per month data plan will include 20GB for the next 60 days.

The T-Mobile Connect plan was part of T-Mobile's merger settlement with various levels of government, including the state of California. Similar to T-Mobile Connect. With T-Mobile Connect, we're giving those hardest hit an even more affordable way to stay in touch.
