Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar has revealed her husband John Bessler has tested positive for the coronavirus and that he is now in hospital with pneumonia.

Klobuchar says she and Besser have been in different places for the last 14 days, so she is outside the window for getting sick. After developing a fever and coughing up blood, he sought medical care and was hospitalized in Virginia due to testing that showed "very low oxygen levels".

Klobuchar said Bessler learned of the positive test Monday morning. Her husband is now receiving oxygen but isn't on a ventilator.
