Bollywood Singer Kanika Kapoor tests positive for COVID-19 again

After Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), over 60 of her contacts have tested negative.

Reportedly, 160 persons came in her contact in three parties after she returned from the UK. Ever since the reports of her, hiding her travel history from United Kingdom from the authorities have surfaced online, netizens have been slamming the actress left, right and centre.

SGPGIMS director Prof R.K. Dhiman said that the singer was doing well otherwise but would remain in hospital until she tested negative for the virus.

According to a TOI report, a team of experts is scanning video footage and CCTV records of the hotel where Kanika stayed. "We have collected names from party organisers also". In fact, the Uttar Pradesh government filed an FIR against Kanika Kapoor.

The police are tracing all those who came in contact with her in the last few days. She had attended as many as four parties and even the President of India have been put on quarantine because of her.

Kapoor was tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday after returning from London and had attended a party at the Taj Hotel in Lucknow - where the South Africa cricket team were staying ahead of the second ODI which was scheduled to be played at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on March 15 before the series was called off. The actress not only stayed at the city's Taj Mahal hotel but also threw a lavish party for her friends.

She is being treated at the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS). She was booked for negligence.

Based on a complaint given by the Lucknow chief medical officer, the FIR was filed.

After being hospitalised, Kanika complained about the hospital in Lucknow, wherein she is now being treated and told TOI, "I've been here since 11 am and all I've been given is a small bottle of water to drink".

A senior health department official acknowledged the FIR contained an error, conceding that only a lab test - and not an airport check-up - can establish that someone is "coronavirus positive".

Her age was incorrectly mentioned as 28. "Whether people checked her or did she really lie about not getting a fever?" So how can one expect me to do it, especially when I had been screened and had no health issues till I left Mumbai?

She went on to add, "People need to be aware".

Speaking to Hindustan Times, singer Indeep Bakshi defended Kapoor and backed her version of events.
