Blizzard announces Echo as the new hero arriving soon for Overwatch

Overwatch developer Jeff Kaplan has revealed the abilities of the upcoming hero, Echo, in a livestream with Twitch streamer TimTheTatMan.

Echo first appeared in a McCree cinematic all the way back in 2018, with the gunslinger rescuing the robot from some train robbers, including Ashe and Bob.

The short video shows Echo's creator, Dr. Mina Liao, moments from death, reminiscing how she went from helping create the omnics, to joining Overwatch to help fight them. At that point, we'll see what Echo's kit adds to Overwatch. The trailer is titled as Echo's origin story. For her ultimate ability, Echo can duplicate enemy heroes by targeting them, essentially becoming another copy of that character. Echo is a member of Overwatch. She created a multirole, adaptive robot that could be programmed to learn different functions - anything from medical support to construction - but with serious limits to independent decision making.

The Fed throws everything at financial markets
Republicans and Democrats failed over the weekend to reach a deal on a $1 trillion-plus coronavirus stimulus package. USA stock futures spiked following this announcement.

Blizzard has announced today that this weekend's scheduled Overwatch League online matches are cancelled due to a "Safer at Home" emergency order entered by the City of Los Angeles. "It will be interesting to see whether she's a support or DPS, by story and look feels like support which we do need a new one". Let me know. Overwatch is available now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. This hasn't been shared by Blizzard yet, and there's no guarantee we will get much in the way of warning. "I'm excited to see her before OW 2 for sure, she seems like she could be a fun mobile support".

Unfortunately, this split between the roles will remain as it is until Overwatch 2 since Echo will be the last hero to be released before the sequel.

While a few new Overwatch heroes have now been confirmed to be in development, those who have played the game for some time will know that it takes time for characters to officially roll out, with Hero 31 (Sigma) arriving in July 2019 and Hero 32 (Echo) arriving in March this year.
