More Questions Over Police Case Against COVID-19 Positive Kanika Kapoor

As per a report, a source has said, "The rumours of Sonam Kapoor's pregnancy goes false and baseless". As per the guidelines by government of India, amid COVID-19 spread in India, the singer was supposed to be in home quarantine for at least 14 days. However It is said, that Dushyant Singh after attending this party was clicked in the Rashtrapati Bhavan with the President of India, Ram Nath Kovind.

Authorities in Lucknow are now in a hunt to track down every potential contact Kanika Kapoor could have had over the last week, after the renowned Bollywood singer tested positive for the deadly Covid-19 virus on Friday.

Kanika, 41, had arrived in Mumbai from London on March 10 and later flown to Lucknow.

She had returned recently from a trip to London following which she attended a party on March 15 hosted by Ahmed Akbar Dumpy in Dalibagh, Lucknow.

Spokesperson of King George Medical University in Lucknow Dr Sudhir Singh said that apart from Minister Jai Pratap Singh, the samples of 28 people who came into contact with him had also tested negative.

The Sarojini Nagar police booked Kanika Kapoor under IPC Sections 269 -a negligent act likely to spread infection of disease risky to life; Section 270-malignant act likely to spread infection of disease unsafe to life and Section 188- disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant.

A police complaint has been filed against singer Kanika Kapoor for "negligence and disobedience".

He added that several among them are owners of establishments, who have shut these down and sent employees into quarantine, without pay cuts.

"There are reports that she dined in the hotel's buffet and also attended several guests in the lobby".

Lucknow police commissioner Sujeet Pandey identified another error: "Kanika had reached Lucknow airport on March 11".

Kanika also said, "At this page, I would like to urge you all to practice self-isolation and get tested if you have the signs".

Authorities have also traced those who attended at least three other gatherings the singer attended after coming to Lucknow.
