Seven Reported Dead in Shooting at Milwaukee Brewery Campus

A local church plans to hold a vigil Thursday night, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported. That number has not been confirmed by authorities. "I believe including the shooter", Milwaukee mayor Tom Barrett told reporters after visiting the scene. During the press briefing, which started at 6:40 p.m. CST, Morales said the brewery's employees were still being discharged from the campus at that time.

President Donald Trump confirmed the death toll at the beginning of a news conference at the White House to discuss COVID-19.

"Our hearts break for them, we send our condolences", Trump said.

US President Donald Trump referred to the gunman as a "wicked murderer" and called the gun violence "a bad thing".

Milwaukee police are dealing with the unfolding situation and wrote, "MPD is investigating a critical incident in the 4000 block of W. State Street". The shooter killed himself after being wounded in a shootout with police.

The assailant who attacked the Molson Coors complex was identified as a 51-year-old Milwaukee man who died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.

Police reportedly responded to emergency calls at 2:11 p.m. local time.

The brewing company's brands include Coors, Foster's, Blue Moon, Keystone Light, Miller, Milwaukee's Best and Peroni, among many others.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel says that seven people are dead, including a suspected shooter.

The shooting occurred at the Molson Coors brewing campus.

It is frequented by tourists because tours take them to underground caves that were once used as storage areas for the beer. Police said they were still contacting relatives as of early evening.

Barrett said such "vile and heinous deadly violence makes no sense". "Wisconsin is a strong state, what happens in Milwaukee happens - it impacts people from all across the state - from Cornucopia to Kenosha", Evers said.

The Milwaukee shooting is the latest in a long list of gun-related violence in the U.S., which saw a record 417 mass shootings in 2019, according to the research group Gun Violence Archive.

"There is an active situation at our Milwaukee facility and we are working closely with the Milwaukee Police Department", read the statement. Check back often for updates on this developing story.
