Neymar sent off as PSG beat Bordeaux in seven-goal thriller

Cavani's goal was PSG's 200th goal.

Edinson Cavani reflected on a "special moment" after scoring his 200th goal for Paris Saint-Germain in Sunday's Ligue 1 win over Bordeaux.

PSG lost 2-1 at Borussia Dortmund in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 game on Tuesday and two days later the players were scolded by coach Thomas Tuchel after a video of them dancing and wildly celebrating a players' birthday party circulated on social media.

There were chances at both ends in the closing stages, and Ruben Pardo pulled one back with a powerful shot (4-3, 83′).

Di Maria was the provider again, this time from a free-kick in first-half injury time, when he teased a ball into the box for Marquinhos who bundled in with his chest from close range.

But Sergio Rico, in for the inured Keylor Navas, slipped up as his Poor clearance crashed into Bordeaux's defender Pablo and the ball bounced back into the net to make it 2-2 before the break.

In the other games on Sunday, Rennes beat Nimes 2-1 at home to reclaim the third place.

Jenson Button: Leclerc needs to challenge Hamilton
Last season Ferrari had a few nightmares with team orders as the pit wall tried to figure who was the best-placed driver . Should the Scuderia decide to replace Vettel, Button suggests Renault's Daniel Ricciardo might get the nod instead.

Marquinhos prodded home from a corner as PSG went ahead before Mbappe scored in the 69th to extend the margin.

Mbappe then got his name on the scoresheet when PSG stole possession and he slotted home after being set up by Cavani.

PSG were kept on their toes until the final whistle as Pardo found the top corner with a superb strike seven minutes from time.

"The victory is the most important thing now because there are things to improve, it is clear", included the German trainer.

"When you lose points and games then your confidence can quickly disappear but they are great players and they are capable of overcoming that". Mentality and confidence can always be hard to rediscover after a loss. "We are playing next Saturday, which is good for us".

The evening concluded with Neymar being sent off in stoppage time for a second yellow card for grappling with Bordeaux's Yacine Adli, leaving the world's most expensive player facing a suspension. "The guy who fouled him just before was not even booked, so it was a bit freakish", said Tuchel of Neymar's sending-off.

"After that, Neymar is angry. The referee. the situation was really very freaky".
