In 49 games for the Ducks this season, Grant has 14 goals and six assists.

During his stint with the Montreal Canadians, IIya Kovalchuk, has scored nine goals, tallied 13 assists for 22 points in 2020.

The Philadelphia Flyers assigned the rookie forward from Cicero to their farm team in the AHL on Monday.

The veteran did not rule out the possibility of returning to Montreal as a free agent on July 1. In the fallout of the trade, the stories from Kovalchuk and his agent J.P. Barry haven't lined up.

"I think he's a good fit for what we need", MacLellan said.

Wilder never seemed to recover from the early onslaught as his corner eventually threw in the towel in the seventh round. That was unlike the first fight 14 months ago when Wilder knocked Fury down twice on his way to a draw.

Kovalchuk had been listed at No. 7 on TSN Hockey's Trade Bait List Sunday afternoon, while Canadiens centre Nate Thompson was at No. 35 and defenceman Jeff Petry was at No. 40.

Bergevin dealt Kovalchuk to the Metropolitan Division-leading Washington Capitals for a 2020 third-round pick late Sunday night. He signed with the Los Angeles Kings that summer and had his contract terminated after putting up 43 points in 81 games. The Canadiens will retain 50 percent of Kovalchuk's $700,000 salary.

The Canadiens acquired Thompson from Los Angeles on February 11 last year and the year before that the Kings acquired him from the Ottawa Senators on February 13.

Ilya Kovalchuk says Marc Bergevin gave him options as to where he could go and that Bergevin had better offers for him from other teams.
