Facebook Will Now Pay You for Voice Recordings (Instead of Spying)

"Participants record phrases within the app, which helps us improve name pronunciation recognition in our products to better serve the people that use them", a Facebook spokesperson said.

As The Verge explains, the new program is called "Pronunciations", and is part of the Facebook Viewpoints market research app, which rewards users for helping the company out with testing and surveys. You'll be able to do this with the names of up to 10 friends, and you have to record each statement twice. Google and Amazon found themselves in hot water previous year, after it transpired that employees and contractors were transcribing users' voice recordings. If you complete a set of recordings, you will get 200 points in the Viewpoints application, and you can not withdraw cash in the Viewpoints application until you earn at least 1,000 points. However, Facebook says that users can be offered the opportunity to make up to five sets of recordings, so there is the possibility of meeting that goal of 1,000 points and receiving a payment. Each set nets the user 200 points.

Facebook users, the social networking giant has a piece of interesting news for you.

Facebook is also, naturally, being clear that the clips recorded for Pronunciations will not be connected to your own profile, and won't be shared without permission.

AI used to discover Antibiotic that could fight world’s most unsafe bacteria
The study showed that halicin could clear infections and kill some strains that are resistant to all other antibiotics discovered. The goal of the computer algorithm was to look at chemical features that make a molecule effective in killing bacteria E.coli.

A few months ago, Facebook and a number of other companies - including Amazon and Apple - found themselves embroiled in a bit of a controversy regarding the review of audio recordings.

Facebook wants to hear what you have to say so badly that it's willing to pay.

Facebook has made enough money off you. If you fit in that description and feel like helping Facebook out for some hard cash, go right ahead and download the Viewpoints app.

At present, this program of promotion is only for American users, for this, there should be at least 75 people in the friendly list of the users, there is no information yet when they will be able to start this program in India and other countries.
