Nets’ Irving to have shoulder surgery, miss rest of National Basketball Association season

While the Nets will go only as far as Durant takes them, they'd get a full season to watch Irving and their young core get acclimated.

Irving said pain in the shoulder initially worsened after a game on November 4 and he played for about a week before sitting out for almost two months.

"In the All-Star Game just proving that I belong, I'm here, just being the best player in the world", Embiid said.

Earlier, the black team coach, Kenny Atkinson, said the pain has not disappeared, so he decided not to include the team's main lineup to the base.

After Thursday's loss, the Nets are now an even 17-17 this season when Irving sits, compared to 8-12 in the games he played in. He played only one more game after that.

Irving averaged 27.4 points, 6.4 assists and 5.2 rebounds in his 20 games this season. Back on Christmas Eve, Irving elected for the injection. We are obviously sitting in a good spot in terms of being in the playoff race, but we are not satisfied with that. "But we'll have time in the offseason to connect and work with him a little bit". This time it was Ben Simmons, whose lower back tightness isn't as serious as the knee issues Joel Embiid dealt with last spring. He now joins Durant on the sideline; the superstars signed with the Nets together in July. The surgery means he will miss the final two months of the season.

The Nets are 7th in the Eastern Conference standings.

"We're right on schedule and on target to put a contender out there", Marks said. Players like Spencer Dinwiddie, Joe Harris, LeVert, and Jarrett Allen will have to shoulder a larger load the rest of the way.

The cut the players would receive is dependent on the length of the regular season, but would remain below 50 percent regardless. No agreement has been struck on this, but owners are willing to nix one preseason game to make it happen.
