UEFA Champions League Highlights: Atletico Madrid VS Liverpool

Champions League holders Liverpool will need to summon another famous European comeback at Anfield next month after they were beaten 1-0 away to Atletico Madrid in their last-16 first leg on Tuesday.

Atleti had won just once in seven matches in all competitions heading into the game but Simeone's side upset the odds, scoring early through Saul Niguez and holding on for a 1-0 lead to take to Anfield.

"They got a result, the stadium wasn't here to see sensational football". This time around the team was not so lucky in Madrid, losing to Atletico 1-0.

The Ghana global was good on the ball, having 53 touches, 26 accurate passes (72.2%), two key passes and three successful long balls from seven.

"The best team in the world comes after a lot of wins and you beat them".

"We started to win the game when we got to the roundabout on the way to the stadium", Simeone said in his post-match press conference. "The atmosphere reminded me of the old nights at [the former Atleti stadium] Calderon". "Atletico were here to squeeze a result out of this game, they got the result and so they are happy and we are not that happy".

Obama Can Be the Reason to USA’s Recent Economic Growth
President Trump fired back Monday after Obama tweeted the subtle swipe at the commander in chief. The unemployment price is at the moment on the lowest it has been within the final 50 years.

A masterclass from Atletico "Atletico lined up in a 4-4-2 formation but Koke always tracked Liverpool left-back Andrew Robertson so he was sometimes playing as a right-sided full-back in a back five".

Liverpool look to smother teams, and suffocate them, and they know how to make life hard for any opposition who come to Anfield and try to shut up shop. We don't give up when it's 15 minutes half-time so why should we when we have three weeks? "We know our fans will be there".

Mane, who was replaced by Divock Origi, was sorely missed as Liverpool failed to have a single shot at the target. "I don't like it".

"It is part of football and I don't like it, but obviously the plan tonight was to get Sadio out of the game with a yellow card and then a possible second", Klopp said, as reported by the Liverpool Echo.

In the other tie, the goals took a while to come but eventually I got the three needed, with Erling Haaland's two for Dortmund landing Scott a nice members' bet success.

The Liverpool coach also confirmed that captain Jordan Henderson was withdrawn with ten minutes remaining as a precaution due to a hamstring problem.
