OnePlus 8 Pro may feature IP68 Water and Dust Resistance

Now a leak is suggesting that the OnePlus 8 will have some form of formal IP rating, something they have never had before. The last phone that the company launched was the OnePlus 7T and the 7T Pro. Surprisingly, it'll get a 4,000mAh battery with the same fast charging as the OnePlus 8. Either way, if the OnePlus 8 Pro end up getting the IP rating, it may be priced at a bit higher than the price point of last year's OnePlus 7 Pro, the reason being the fact that IP ratings for phones cost money. While the standard OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro boast the flagship-level Qualcomm Snapdragon 865, the OnePlus 8 Lite opts for the MediaTek MTK Dimensity 1000.

These issues may be trivial for many users, but OnePlus is taking them quite seriously.

It tried to please fans a year ago by offering some degree of water resistance on the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro without obtaining an official rating. The most feature packed smartphone of this series will be the OnePlus 8 Pro. Although the company clearly sees the rating as unnecessary, it is well worth label or having one to boost the devices feature list and even better compare with other flagships it competes against in the market. It also mirrors the OnePlus 8 In terms of RAM, storage and processor.

Running Android 10, it allegedly has 48MP, 16MP and 12MP sensors. Upgraded displays and cameras are also expected The OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro are expected to feature 6.5-inch and 6.65-inch Fluid AMOLED displays respectively. There are rumors of OnePlus improving the overall-camera system.

While he didn't specifically name the phone as the OnePlus 8, he did retweet an article theorizing that this was the phone he's talking about, so it seems likely that (or the OnePlus 8 Pro) is the handset in question. Said to be backed by a 4000mAh battery, it is said to offer Warp 30T fast charging. For selfies, the OnePlus 8 Lite is claimed to house a 16MP Sony IMX471 selfie camera.

The rest of the alleged OnePlus 8 information comes from online store Giztop, so we are not 100% sure if this info is real or not.

The OnePlus 8 series is expected to be unveiled in the first half of 2020.
