Chaka Khan Joins Fergie in Pantheon of Memorable NBA National Anthem Performances

Chaka Khan gave Fergie a vocal run for her money with her unique take on the USA national anthem before Sunday's NBA All-Star Game. Khan has sold over 70 million records to date and has 10 Grammy Awards under her belt.

Yvette Marie Stevens, popularly known as Chaka Khan, is an American singer and songwriter.

Born Yvette Marie Stevens on March 23, 1963, she is better known by her stage name Chaka Khan, Her career has spanned almost five decades, beginning in the 1970s as the lead vocalist of the funk band Rufus. The 66-year-old singer began her singing career in the 1970s as the lead vocalist of the funk band "Rufus". Khan, at least, did not do such a thing - but her essence during the performance definitely had the same mislead confidence as the Fergalicious dutchess herself.

Khan sang the National Anthem before the All-Star Weekend Game kick-off. So what did she do and why is the trolling and memes going viral?

This year, Khan's anthem got fouled for straying from the melody and showing off her vocal skills.

There have been 900 cases around the world, with five deaths in France, Japan, the Philippines, Taiwan and Hong Kong . But people in Yokohama appeared supportive of the decision to allow the passengers out despite the virus fears.


"Chaka Khan absolutely butchered that national anthem", tweeted one person. Khan's 142 seconds long high pitched rendering sounded like a call for help and made its way to some of the most cringeworthy moments of live TV.
