Michael Bloomberg qualifies for Democratic Party debate in Las Vegas

Mike Bloomberg leads Oklahoma's Democratic primary field in a new poll two weeks before the election, but President Trump is essentially a lock to win in November.

A NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist survey found that Bloomberg is polling at 19%, second only to Bernie Sanders. Now he is set to clash with his rivals - Senator Bernie Sanders, ex-Vice President Joe Biden, Senator Elizabeth Warren, Senator Amy Klobuchar and former Mayor of South Bend, Indiana, Pete Buttigieg.

"Mike is looking forward to joining the other Democratic candidates on stage and making the case for why he's the best candidate to defeat Donald Trump and unite the country", the Bloomberg campaign said Tuesday in a statement.

In the RealClearPolitics national poll average he has climbed into third spot, behind Sanders, also 78, and Biden, who is 77.

The 10th Democratic debate, hosted by the Congressional Black Caucus Institute, CBS and Twitter, will be Tuesday, Feb. 25 at the Gaillard Center in Charleston, South Carolina.

Sanders has repeatedly slammed Bloomberg for his attempt to "buy" his way into the presidential race, and by highlighting Bloomberg's absence on the campaign trail in early-voting states.

Media mogul Michael Bloomberg has qualified for the debates which will be held on 19 February in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The former NY mayor's plan would also create a team at the U.S. Justice Department dedicated to fighting corporate crime and "encouraging prosecutors to pursue individuals, not only corporations, for infractions", while strengthening the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and "expanding its jurisdiction to include auto lending and credit reporting", according to the Times.
