Alleged spying app ToTok removed from Google Play Store, again

Google confirmed the company's decision to remove the app but has declined to give the reason for the removal (via The Verge).

The Android app is now not optimized for tablets, but Microsoft said back in November that it was working on it. We have separate apps for each on app stores and Microsoft has decided to make that easy for us.

The headlining feature of the new app is that it combines the charms of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in one app, in your pocket.

Americans on Evacuation Plane Test Positive for Coronavirus
Some American passengers said they would pass up the opportunity to fly to the United States because of the additional quarantine. In total, 454 passengers among the 3,000 passengers quarantined on the cruise liner have now been diagnosed with the virus .

The app, which is nearly 100MB on the PlayStore combines the functionality of the most used Microsoft services. You can take a photo of a document or whiteboard and create an editable Word file, scan a table and create a spreadsheet in Excel, and create a PowerPoint slide from photos on your phone.

Let PowerPoint help you design a presentation by simply selecting the pictures you want to use from your phone. The iOS version of this new Office mobile app is also not available on Apple's App Store yet, but it's likely coming very soon. Microsoft usually themed their productivity apps according to their colour scheme (Word was blue, Excel was green etc).

Google detailed how it took down malicious apps and developers from the Play Store previous year in its new security report. Well now on my phone, the dedicated Excel, Word and Powerpoint apps gobble up roughly 600MB of storage while the new combined app uses roughly 400MB of storage. You can also download the app from this link.
