Felix Auger-Aliassime beats Carreno Busta to reach Rotterdam final

Canada's Felix Auger-Aliassime defeated Spain's Pablo Carreno Busta 7-6 (2), 6-4 on Saturday to reach the final of the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament.

Defending champion Gael Monfils continued his hot-streak with a convincing 7-6 (7-5) 6-2 victory over Dan Evans in the Rotterdam Open quarter-finals.

The Frenchman will face either Serbia's Filip Krajinovic or Russian seventh seed Andrey Rublev.

Monfils squandered four match points at 5-4 in the second set but the 33-year-old held his nerve in the tiebreak and will look to lift the 10th title of his career in Sunday's final.

It marks the second semifinal appearance of the year for Auger-Aliassime, who is ranked 21st in the world. The Spaniard was unable to convert either of them, though, as Auger-Aliassime fought back to deuce before clinching the game to make it 6-5.

"It would be the first time to win two titles in a row and actually even the first time to win two titles in the same season, so it would be huge for me", Monfils said, per the ATP Tour.

After edging the first set, Auger-Aliassime got the decisive break in the third game of the next set and held serve at 4-3 to quell a late comeback attempt by Carreno Busta. Auger-Aliassime won the first four points, including two mini-breaks, to put himself into pole position.
