Lewis Hamilton: Mercedes driver still motivated to continue success with team

"I perceive that he feels that he is at the peak of his abilities", he said. Obviously there's so much work that goes into building this auto, you're only one of two that get to drive it.

Formula One champion Hamilton, who will target a record-equalling seventh title in 2020, is in the final 12 months of his existing deal. They couldn't be more excited or enthusiastic or driven.

"But to see the W11 alive and the team has done so much work to get to this where we can just go straight out from the box".

"It would be easy to be laid back. It is a real privilege to be in this position".

Last season, F1's new generation of Red Bull's Max Verstappen and Ferrari's Charles Leclerc showed they were not intimidated by the 35-year-old Hamilton. He is definitely one of the best out there, but he's not God. He is also only seven wins behind Schumacher's 91 and four podiums behind the German's 155, both F1 records. "Maybe God is with him, but he is not God".

"I find it amusing as I'll do my talking on the track", he said when asked about the chatter.

Verstappen, 22, insisted recently that with the right machinery he could beat the British driver. "I have always been known to be my talking on the track, often I tend to see that as a sign of weakness so..." With the regulations stable, their new auto is an evolution of last year's model that proved so successful.

Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff said the prospect of Hamilton facing off against the next generation of F1 superstars was a tantalising one, with the season opening Australian GP just over a month away.

The rear bodywork is noticeably more tightly packaged for better airflow, and there is the usual complexity of airflow shapers behind the front wheels.

Ferrari, who launched their auto on Tuesday, have played down reports that they are looking to bring in Hamilton, insisting they want to retain Sebastian Vettel alongside Charles Leclerc next year.

Possessing the dominant engine in the early years of the hybrid engine era, Mercedes trailed Ferrari in the power stakes last year - and Allison says improved engine performance has inevitably been a focus for 2020.

The W11 and its drivers will first take to the track next Wednesday at Circuit de Barcelona, site of the Spanish Grand Prix, for the first of two winter test sessions.

And the former Toro Rosso team, who are being rebranded as Alpha Tauri this year, will unveil their auto in Austria on Friday evening.

Tüchel: "I cannot assure you that Neymar can be against Dortmund"
Ahead of that first-leg match at the last-16 stage, former Dortmund coach Tuchel will hope to have his key players available. We'll see if this trauma can be overcome against Dortmund ... "We can't risk his fitness", Goal .com quoted Tuchel as saying.
