Director Matt Reeves shared a camera test of the actor in the new Batman suit via Vimeo.

Director Matt Reeves tweeted a dimly lit clip Thursday night that shows Robert Pattinson wearing the suit, cape and cowl, bathed in a red glow.

While the footage itself is dark, moody, and only gives us a brief glimpse of this new take on Batman, we do get a close-up look of his chest emblem.

The response to the first look of Robert Pattinson, the latest in a string of actors to take the role of Gotham's caped crusader, should be gratifying for the makers of the film. With composer Michael Giacchino's score setting the tone (via Variety), the camera does a generously slow pan around the front of the suit - with Pattinson inside. He uploaded a video on Vimeo showcasing Robert Pattinson in the iconic Batman Batsuit.

"I'd had Batman in my mind for a while", Pattinson said.

Pattinson told Variety in fall of 2019 that he grew up a huge fan of Tim Burton's "Batman" films in 1989 and 1992. It's such an absurd thing to say.

"You do feel very powerful immediately", Pattinson continued.

"The ritual of getting into it is pretty humiliating", Pattison said.

In addition, the film is set to star the likes of Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred, Zoe Kravits as Catwoman, Colin Farrell as the Penguin, Paul Dano as the Riddler, and John Turturro as Carmine Falcone.

The Batman has a June 25, 2021 release directed by Matt Reeves starring Robert Pattinson (upcoming "Tenet", "The Lighthouse", "Good Time") as Gotham City's vigilante detective, Batman, and billionaire Bruce Wayne.
