DHHR Confirms: W.Va. Child Died Of The Flu

The Pima County Health Department says this season 3600 people have gone to emergency departments reporting flu-like illnesses.

As of Wednesday there are more than 45,000 reported cases of Coronavirus around the world and more than 1,000 deaths, according to the World Health Organization. There have been no deaths in the US attributed to the 2019 novel coronavirus.

So far it is unknown if coronavirus spreads via touching a surface an infected person has touched and then touching their own face.

Flu can be risky, said Gerrard. "I've heard different things, some people say yeah it's not that unsafe and others say you die quickly", added Thomas from Eau Claire.

Symptoms include fever or feeling feverish, chills, cough, sore throat, runny nose, muscle or body aches, headache, fatigue, vomiting and diarrhea (especially among children). "But the one we're hearing about in the news right now is a novel, which just basically means it's a new one that causes more of a severe respiratory syndrome", explained Williams. The number of cases nationally have been increasing in double digits for the last few weeks.

Last week, Colby College announced it was placing members of the college community who had recently visited mainland China in isolation - the college would not say how many.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention conducted the test and informed the Maine CDC of the results.

According to the indictment, Huawei entered into confidentiality agreements with U.S. tech firms and then violated those deals. The company did not immediately respond to an AFP inquiry.

Wisconsin health officials say a second child has died from the flu this winter, and there's been a big rise this week in flu-related hospitalizations.

"For the most part they actually have the same morbidity-mortality, meaning you're likely to get the same complications from influenza and Coronavirus".

Kailey Bibber, a sophomore, said the recent outbreak of the coronavirus has been distorted by the media.

Williams says people in the Chippewa Valley shouldn't lose sleep over the Coronavirus.

"None of the individuals in isolation have any symptoms of the virus, and they are being monitored per (federal) CDC guidelines", Colby College said in a statement posted on its website February 6.

At Sacred Heart, they say the only difference is they ask if people have traveled specifically to China recently, the source of the outbreak.

Some students said that the vaccine is known to make you sick or get the flu, while others said that it is not beneficial to them because they never have gotten the flu, just a cold during the flu season.
