Coronavirus 'super spreader' released from London hospital

"Anyone with a cough, fever, or shortness of breath who attends hospital and has recently returned from one of the specified countries, will be advised to follow signs to NHS 111 pods and call for advice, igso they stay isolated from other patients and avoid causing unnecessary pressure in A&E".

The Department of Health said last night an A&E worker at Worthing Hospital is one of the eight confirmed cases in the UK.

Steve Walsh, 53, was discharged Wednesday from a London hospital after he was quarantined for the deadly virus, which he became infected with during his travels to Singapore, the Sun reported.

In the statement, Walsh also said that he contacted his doctor and health authorities as soon as he knew he had been exposed to a confirmed case of coronavirus.

A spokesman for NHS Brighton and Hove CCG added: "All other NHS services in Brighton and Hove are open as usual and measures are in place to ensure the safety of all patients and NHS staff while also ensuring services are available to the public as normal".

Walsh was being held in an isolation unit at St Thomas' hospital in London.

A United Kingdom (UK) Businessman identified as Steve Walsh, the man suspected of being at the centre of the outbreak of coronavirus in UK, has been discharged from hospital.

Walsh travelled to his hometown of Hove, where he is thought to have attended a pub and potentially visited a medical clinic in neighbouring Brighton.

It comes as the World Health Organisation announced a name for the new coronavirus - Covid-19.

He remains quarantined in hospital, but says his thoughts are with others who have contracted the virus. He was also connected to at least one case in Spain.

In a statement after leaving the hospital, Mr. Walsh thanked those involved in his treatment and recovery.

He said his family have been asked to isolate themselves "as a precaution".

Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus told a press conference a name was decided that "did not refer to a geographical location, an animal, an individual or group of people, and which is also pronounceable and related to the disease".

Earlier, Professor Paul Cosford, emeritus medical director of Public Health England (PHE), said "contact tracing" run by PHE was "working very well".

"The new cases are all known contacts of a previously confirmed United Kingdom case, and the virus was passed on in France", Mr Whitty said.

Meanwhile, Patcham Nursing Home in Brighton said it was still "closed to all visitors" after one of the infected Global Positioning System visited a patient there about a week ago.

Three medical centres in Brighton and Hove were closed over fears of contamination, along with four schools in the area.
