Kobe Bryant: LA Lakers star, his daughter Gianna die in helicopter crash

Kobe and his 13-year-old daughter Gianna "Gigi" Bryant were two of the nine people onboard a helicopter that crashed in the Calabasas area on January 26, with none of the other victims identified at the time of writing.

Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant died on Sunday at age 41, according to a report by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. Reportedly, an investigation is ongoing, and the National Transportation Safety Board has sent a team to the site of the crash.

CNN.com is reporting that the Bryants were on their way to a basketball game at the Mamba Sports Academy in Thousand Oaks. "Those aboard the helicopter also included another player and parent".

Teen Starts Viral Petition To Move The Super Bowl To Saturday
My goal is to bring Miami to you by giving you a glimpse at Super Bowl city and beyond during the biggest week of the season. This year, the San Francisco 49ers will take on the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIV in Miami on Sunday, February 2.

Born in Philadelphia, Bryant started playing basketball when he was just 3-year-old. Shortly after Bryant was reported to be among the deceased, multiple games began with 24-second shot clock violations - Bryant's number for much of his career. He writes, "I am shocked over the tragic news of Kobe's and Gianna's passing. He was generous with the wisdom he acquired, and saw it as his mission to share it with future generations of players, taking special delight in passing down his love of the game to Gianna".

"Yvette [Jordan's wife] joins me in sending my deepest condolences to Vanessa [Bryant's wife], the Lakers organisation and basketball fans around the world".
