2nd T20I: Pakistan beat Bangladesh by 9 wickets, seal series

The third Twenty20 global between Pakistan and Bangladesh was abandoned without a ball being bowled Monday because of bad weather in Lahore, giving the home side a 2-0 series victory.

Inspired by a three-pronged pace attack, Pakistan's new-look bowling restricted Bangladesh to 141/5 in the first Twenty20 global in Lahore on Friday. So Pakistan have won the series 2-0 and as a result they will hold their top position in the current ICC T20I ranking.

Both batsmen entertained a weekend crowd of around 20,000 at the Gaddafi Stadium with a splendid 131-run stand against a listless Bangladesh bowling attack.

In reply, Shafiul Islam (1-27) was Bangladesh's lone successful bowler when he had Ahsan Ali out for a duck - caught at mid-off - but then Babar and Hafeez took charge.

Naim smashed two sixes and three boundaries while Iqbal had four boundaries and a six in his knock.

He was an 18-time All-Star, two-time NBA Finals MVP and ranks fourth in league history with 33,643 points. The Los Angeles Lakers star won five championships with the team, often being compared to Michael Jordan.

Bangladesh made 141 run on the loss of 5 wickets.

Pakistan previous year welcomed back Test cricket after a long gap when Sri Lanka toured the nation in December.

The Indian team has not toured Pakistan since 2008, while they have also not played a full Test bilateral series with Pakistan since 2007 due to strained political and diplomatic relations.

Bangladesh were yet to reach a three-digit score even in the 15th over.

Bangladesh will return for the first Test in Rawalpindi from February 7.
