What does the Jeff Bezos hacking investigation mean for MBS?

What does the Jeff Bezos hacking investigation mean for MBS?

According to a report first published by the Wall Street Journal, Lauren Sanchez, the girlfriend of uber billionaire Jeff Bezos, reportedly sent the raunchy photos of Bezos and racy texts from the Amazon founder that were eventually leaked to the National Enquirer by her brother Michael Sanchez.

The UN expert also said they have relevant information that throws light on the involvement of Mohammed bin Salman, crown prince of Saudi Arabia, in the hacking of Bezos' phone.

The sensational claim comes days after Bezos's much publicised India visit with Sanchez.

"It seems likely that Michael Sanchez is the primary source for the National Enquirer's story".

The text messages are part of evidence gathered by federal prosecutors in Manhattan as they investigate whether the National Enquirer's publisher, American Media Inc.

He moderated 12 president debates - including all of the debates in 1996 and 2000 - more than any other journalist in USA history. In 1996 and 2000, he moderated all of the presidential debates, the first person to ever accomplish that feat.

After the investigation was initiated, AMI, Bezos alleged, threatened to release more intimate photos and texts.

In a story published in January previous year, The Enquirer had quoted the text from May 10, 2018 to make a point about Bezos' extramarital affair with Sanchez.

As reported by Wall Street Journal it has evidence of the text messages and the evidence of $200,000 cash received as payment by Michael Sanchez from the Enquirer.

Bezos had in February 2019 accused the newspaper's owner of trying to blackmail him with the threat of publishing "intimate photos" he allegedly sent to Sanchez unless he said in public that the tabloid's reporting on him was not politically motivated.

The reports stated that Jeff Bezos' iPhone was hacked via a malicious video file sent from a WhatsApp account used by the crown prince of Saudi Arabia. "It's also possible that Saudi Arabia may have hacked Bezos' phone, though that's not a certainty", reports The Verge.
