'No surprise if Klopp walks away from Liverpool'

'No surprise if Klopp walks away from Liverpool'

Liverpool coach Juergen Klopp has rejected speculation about Xherdan Shaqiri's move to Italy and said the club had no intention of leaving a player from its first team in the transfer window in January.

Shaqiri has been restricted to only 10 appearances for Liverpool across all competitions and Italian media has reported that AS Roma want the 28-year-old Swiss playmaker on loan until the end of the season.

Liverpool are arguably the best club in the Premier League this term considering how they have been topping the table since when the 2019/20 season started.

"We knew before, we said it before (the game) and rightly so, this would be a really, really tough game - everybody knew it, pretty much", said Klopp as quoted by club's official website.

"It's not about Shaq, it's about everyone. We have to keep them for sorting our situation and not the situation for different clubs".

Liverpool have won 20 of their 21 Premier League outings so far this season, but Jurgen Klopp remains certain that there is room for improvement ahead of their test against Manchester United.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp isn't a fan, although he's never complained about the television money that goes toward putting £15 million in his bank account every year.

Speaking in an interview quoted by The Guardian, Klopp said: "The self-awareness [has changed]".

"The league lead gives us all a good feeling".

He added, with the Reds also chasing down FA Cup and Champions League glory: "Going unbeaten would be nice, but as I say we've got some great kids coming through, as you saw against Everton in the FA Cup". It is normal a player wants to play 90 minutes but we have to learn from our own past.

"We play Spurs who are a good side".

"I try to read the players during the game and try to understand in which moment they are energy-level wise and make a decision".

"Sometimes I hit the point and sometimes not, maybe with Ox last time I was a bit too early but he got a knock on top of that". He was limping a little. In one or two defensive situations if a midfielder is not in the way he should be it has an impact.

"As a goalkeeper, you make a mistake and the ball is in the goal, that is the life of a goalkeeper".
