Twitter is crashing on Android devices after the latest update

If you haven't downloaded the update yet, it's best to wait for Twitter to fix the issue. If you use Twitter for Android, we suggest not updating it until we let you know it's fixed. In its tweet, Twitter's support team confirmed that the issue exists on the latest version of Twitter for Android, causing the app to crash immediately on launch.

But if you haven't installed the latest Twitter for Android update, you can disable the app from automatically updating on the Play Store. You can check out the official tweet below. Head to the app's listing page on the store, then tap the three-dot menu at the top-right corner and deselect the Enable auto-update item. The app is crashing immediately on launching after the update is installed.

To install it, go to Twitter's page in the Google Play Store and check for an "Update" button. Twitter's release notes are rathery cryptic, simply saying that "You may not be able to *see* the changes, but we've made a few to keep your Twitter running at 100%", but installing it appears to resolve the problem and prevent the crashes. You just need to clear the Twitter app's cache memory.

Some users have reported seeing positive results after reinstalling the app or clearing the cache.
