Watch 6 seconds of leaked Godfall gameplay

In case you didn't catch it, the first official PS5 game was announced at last December's The Game Awards with Counterplay Games' (Gearbox Software is publishing) Godfall.

For what it's worth, the leaked footage purportedly dates back to early 2019, and lacks the finished look you can expect from the actual game, which is slated to launch in late 2020. Described as a looter slasher it looks like a game that has players team up in groups of three against enemies in the world, with players getting better loot as they progress.

While the now released trailer does tease gamers with a small slice of gameplay pie, we've been eagerly awaiting some more. It's not clear, however, whether the footage was captured on PC or a PS5 devkit. Is it a leak, or marketing? Granted, the gameplay video is approximately a year old, and two years of development time is enough to improve a lot.

Internal trailers are invariably used as a target for the final product to hit and not an indicator of how something will definitively look - especially so long before release.

Following the development of HarmonyOS , Huawei started working to get different app developers onto the platform. The trade ban has already resulted in Huawei delaying the release of its latest handsets in Western countries.

Developed by Counterplay Games, Godfall will tap into the PS5's SSD to produce ultra-fast load times and create some stunningly-detailed game worlds.

With all that in mind, it's a snazzy looking trailer.

We don't know when "soon" is, but it's reasonably safe to assume that Godfall will play a part in Sony's PlayStation 5 reveal event, which is heavily rumoured to be taking place in February.
