Conor McGregor lavishes praise on 'Phenomenal President' Donald Trump

Conor McGregor couldn't have scripted his highly anticipated return to the octagon any better than what transpired at UFC 246.

Now, the Irishman must sit back and wait for his next opponent to present themselves, as matchups with the likes of Jorge Masvidal, UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman, or UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov have all been speculated.

McGregor opened the fight by whiffing on a big straight left hand and falling into the clinch of Cerrone, but he hurt "Cowboy" with shoulder strikes to the face, which clearly caught him by surprise.

"Justin Gaethje at 170 would be my personal preference", Kavanagh told Ariel Helwani's MMA Show on Monday.

Trump takes on Thunberg and 'pessimism' at Davos
It was, predictably, a rather different speech from the US President to open the 50th World Economic Forum . Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg , center, attends the Trump's speech Tuesday.

"I don't see the reason for him to cut weight unless there's a significant, there has to be a belt on the line", Kavanagh said. Last year was not a good year for McGregor, who struggled with controversies outside of the cage.

He explained: "Sure and who knows?"

Kavanagh says it would be surprising if Conor McGregor does not fight before the summer as the goal is to stay active. The 36-year-old was pictured at On The Record speakeasy and club in Las Vegas where he took pictures with his wife as well as with Hollywood actor Jeremy Renner.

"There was talk of March or April, so I don't know about this "before the summer" - he's definitely going to be competing before the summer". Do you think Trump will attend a McGregor fight in 2020?
