OnePlus 8 Pro hands-on image leaks, revealing 120Hz refresh rate settings

The upcoming series is said to include OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro and OnePlus 8 Lite, which is reportedly going to be the first affordable smartphone from the company. It was then sighted in the wild while an illustration of the OnePlus 8 Pro variant surface with quad rear cameras. The image below was submitted – a shot of the alleged OnePlus 8 Pros display.

Also worth noting, the new high refresh rate screen is expected to have a variable refresh rate setting, likely loaded up to save battery.

The feature announcement couldn't have come at a better time, considering all the chatter about the Galaxy S20's rumored 120Hz screen. A new leak coming from True Tech goes in line with the past ones and suggests that the OnePlus 8 Pro will come with 120hz refresh rate similar to the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra.

Of course, we'd still take all of this with a pinch of salt for now, as this leaked image might have been modified or simply be showing a different phone, but we're not seeing any red flags. Top-end Samsung users might have to choose between a great resolution or a smoother refresh rate, while the OnePlus menu on the snapshot above shows no such choice.

A high refresh rate will cause less delay and more natural motion onscreen, which is especially important in video games. This Settings page allows users to easily switch between the 120Hz, 90Hz, and 60Hz option based on their preference.

Now, the first image of 2020's OnePlus 8 Pro has been leaked online, and it looks to improve on the original in a lot of key ways.

According to a report by TrueTech, the image also reveals that OnePlus has apparently ditched the pop-up camera for a punch-hole solution. The upcoming OnePlus 8 has been in the works since last quarter.
