West Ham fan protest is familiar ground for Moyes

Ross Barkley set to reunite with his Everton boss? Escape they did, but the campaign was marked by simmering fan rancour.

It is the reason majority started supporting West Ham, for a sense of community, shared spirit and pride of being part of something - qualities many believe have been stripped away by the move to the London Stadium and 10 years under the ownership of David Sullivan and David Gold.

Under the ownership of Sullivan and Gold the club has gone through highs and lows with one relegation, one promotion, two top-ten finishes and two European adventures.

From Everton, for 43 minutes, there was only the doggedness that Carlo Ancelotti has brought.

The club have had another disappointing season to date and now sit in 17th place in the Premier League, just one point above the relegation zone.

Cresswell has been a mainstay for his new manager since Manuel Pellegrini left the London Stadium, playing in all but one of Moyes' Premier League games in charge.

The Hammers face a daunting run of fixtures over the next few weeks, with games against Leicester, Liverpool and Manchester City among their next five.

Hammers goalscorer, Diop, has been linked with a move away from the London Stadium.

"Everton got better but we had our chances in the first half and we didn't take them. What I don't want is to sign any cast-offs".

Fans' group Hammers United, who organised the protests, said promises made around the move out of Upton Park were the root of the problem.

The owners responded with a statement on the club's website on Saturday, saying that they were in a much better place then 10 years ago, but understanding the concerns. Of course, we didn't deserve to equalise in the first-half because West Ham played better than us, we made a lot of mistakes, we were not in the game.
