Her passing emerges months after her eldest child, Claudette Dion, revealed she had been battling a series of significant health issues, including memory loss, and hearing and vision impairment.

Thérèse Tanguay Dion has sadly died.

The star also posted on social media an old black and white family photo showing the matriach surrounded by her husband and their 14 children. Eerily, Thursday furthermore marked the 4th anniversary of Celine's brother, Daniel, death - so, this become already a really attempting time for the singer and her family. Montreal Mayor Valerie Plante wrote that Therese Dion was "proof that a mother's love can make all dreams possible".

Born on March 20, 1927, she met her future husband Adhemar Dion in 1940s while living in La Tuque.

Later, Teresa became a television personality and organized her own cooking show, while also known for her philanthropy, and founded the Maman Dion Foundation in 2006 to help disadvantaged children.
