Vanessa Hudgens, Austin Butler split after eight years

A source told Us Weekly magazine: "Vanessa and Austin are officially broken up, and Vanessa has been telling those close to her about their breakup".

The pair were first linked in September of 2011, and rumors that they split began over the holidays when the 31-year-old actress appeared to be on vacation without the 28-year-old actor.

ET has reached out to both Hudgens' and Butler's reps for comment.

The split is definitely heartbreaking but many fans saw it coming since the two haven't posted about each other on social media in months.

At the 2017 Emmys, Issa told a reporter that she was only looking for Black folks to take home trophies at the ceremony. Rae's remark elicited laughs among those in the theater where the nominations were announced.

"Happy Halloween from my family to yours", she captioned the post showing the couple dressed in gothic costumes.

Hudgens, 31, accessorized the dress with a pair of black satin platform Mary Janes and wore her hair in soft but voluminous curls. Hudgens has been overseas filming The Princess Switch 2, while Butler is believed to be starting production on Baz Luhrmann's upcoming Elvis Presley biopic. "I AMMMM OVERRRR THE F-KING MOOOOOOOOONNNNN", she wrote on Instagram. ET chatted with her in August 2018 at the premiere of her film, Dog Days, where she gushed about Butler's high-profile projects. It was announced over the summer that Butler had been cast as Elvis in the film, and Hudgens couldn't have been more excited for her man. Austin was also apparently absent on her birthday on December 13.

"No, because if I felt pressure in a relationship, we wouldn't have been together for nearly seven years", Hudgens told ET in March 2018. "Everyone's clock is different".

She added: 'We both respect, trust and admire each other. It is so strong now as a result of I really feel robust as an impartial lady. "I am very self-reliant, but it's nice to have a best friend you can share victories with as well as losses".
