CBS is working on a sequel to the "Silence of the Lambs" series, which centers on the role of Federal Bureau of Investigation agent Clarice Starling.

Now, CBS has confirmed a sequel TV series to The Silence of the Lambs is in the works, set to focus on the life and career of dauntless Federal Bureau of Investigation agent Clarice Starling, whom Jodie Foster won her Oscar for portraying. No one has been cast yet, but the series will focus on Clarice Starling post-Silence ... and won't feature Hannibal Lecter. Clarice's bravery and sophistication have always turned the way, even when her personal story remained in the dark. But it is exactly the story we need today: its struggle, its resistance, its victory. The Silence of the lambs, the cult film of the 90s, which contributed to the popularization of Hannibal rising, a serial killer cannibal, is going to be available in the form of a series. Her time is now, and always, ' they added.

Kurtzman will executive produce under his Secret Hideout banner, which is now under a five-year deal at CBS Television Studios. Fans of the original will be excited to see where the CBS series goes with protagonist Clarice Starling's character. Lumet is a co-showrunner on Star Trek: Discovery and will work on the pilot script with Kurtzman.

Fuller had also stated that if season four were to happen, they would like it to include some Silence of the Lambs material and Clarice Starling-which won't happen now, as Fuller confirmed.

That series followed a young Clarice Starling after she graduates from the Federal Bureau of Investigation academy, but the project never moved forward.
