76ers center Joel Embiid to have surgery on finger

The center of Philadelphia Joel Embiid is consulting a specialist for finger luxation on his left hand and will miss the 76ers' home game against the Boston Celtics on Thursday.

Reports from the Detroit Free Press revealed that the Pistons reached out to the New York Knicks about a possible trade involving their veteran center Andre Drummond. Ben Simmons was tremendous and he was being utilized as the screen once again!

An hour after the initial announcement, in which they gave no timetable for his return and said Embiid was still evaluating his options, a Sixers team spokesman told reporters Embiid would be having surgery to correct the issue. They usually go as far in the postseason as Embiid can take them - a small sigh of relief he was hurt before the All-Star break and not headed into the postseason.

"It's two big sports cities that really get behind their teams, so you appreciate that", Richardson said.

Horford, who left Boston in the offseason to sign a four-year contract with Philadelphia, converted a three-point play for a seven-point lead. "I feel that everyone is nearly ready to fight for that game when it arises". Kemba Walker kept the Celtics in the game after a three pointer tied the game back up at 69 with 4:48 left in the quarter, and Boston led by three heading into the 4th.

Walker, who wore a wrap in the locker room, said he stuck his thumb and didn't think he would need additional evidence.

"When he first went down, we were anxious about ligaments", coach Brad Stevens said.

And ex-Celtic Al Horford also got back to his old self with Embiid out, and posted a stat line similar to the ones he regularly put up as a Celtic, scoring 17 points, grabbing eight rebounds, and adding six assists. "Right now, in many ways, it seems we have dodged a bullet".

Since Thybulle's last appearance, the Sixers have only forced 11.6 turnovers per game, 26th in the National Basketball Association during that span. "But we have to be better".
