OnePlus 2020 Screen Technology Communication Meeting to take place on 13 January

OnePlus is planning to launch three flagship models this year. The company might announce 120Hz display technology during the launch event, reports GizmoChina. The company continues its path as a highly geared competitor against the industry giants Apple and Samsung in many areas.

OnePlus recently sent an invitation to the Chinese media for an event in Shenzhen, China. There are some claims that this display technology will be about the refresh rate. So far, the Asus ROG Phone 2 and Razer Phone 2 are two of the few phones that have this type of screen, although some phones in 2019 were introduced in the 90Hz realm, including the OnePlus 7 Pro.

However, what OnePlus plans to talk about still remains under wraps. There are rumours that the company may unveil 120Hz display panels in this event which could be used in the upcoming OnePlus8 series.

Not much is known about the OnePlus 8 series now, but the company's CEO Pete Lau claimed the upcoming flagships will be the "most handsome".

A 120Hz screen refreshes twice as regularly as a normal phone, making the viewing experience much smoother than with a regular screen.

The meeting about OnePlus 2020 Screen Technology could be a major leak about OnePlus 8 series.

OnePlus can take away significantly from the days the market operates in the company of its next flagship smartphone i.e. OnePlus 8 Pro in the 120HZ the refresh rate of the display may be able to give.

OnePlus manager Carl Pei has promised that all OnePlus branded smartphones will have a refresh rate of at least 90 Hz in the coming months.
