Honda CIvic Type R 2020: Specs, Prices, Features

After giving the new Civic and Civic Si a mild facelift previous year, it wasn't long for the Honda Type R to receive the same treatment.

One of our favorite hatchbacks bowed with a series of mechanical updates, some additional technologies and a new Boost Blue exterior color.

And that's about it.

In all fairness, the Civic Type-R is already a dazzling performance saloon, and Honda knows this all too well.

Honda has installed newly developed two-piece brake rotors and updated brake pads created to reduce fade and boost the stopping power at high speeds. The suspension includes updated dampers for better ride comfort, stiffer rear bushings for better grip, as well as modifications to the front suspension to reduce friction and improve steering feel.

Two of four Maradu Buildings demolished within seconds
As part of the safety measures, 2,000 individuals living in the vicinity of the apartments were also evacuated. In a controlled blast, two of the four apartments were demolished following a Supreme Court order past year .

If dropped into the Civic Type R 2020, a new steering wheel wrapped in the industry's favorite high-performance material, Alcantara, will be revealed. The 2020 facelift also gets what Honda calls the Active Sound Control, which will produce faux sound inside the cabin in accordance with the chosen drive mode.

The trims have also been revised, with some markets getting the Honda Sensing safety system in the base spec.

Underneath the hood you'll find the same turbocharged 2.0-liter gasoline engine making 306 horsepower and 295 pound-feet (400 Newton-meters) of torque. Not exactly. The Civic Type R is already potent with 306-horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, which is more than enough for a compact four-door saloon vehicle. Output is channeled to the front axle through a six-speed, close-ratio manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.

It also retains three drive modes that let the driver choose different driving experiences, from comfort- to performance-focused.

Going by the full name of "Honda Civic Cyber Night Japan Cruiser 2020, ' the show auto spices up the original Civic Type R " s unmistakable three-door hatchback silhouette with a beefier body kit.
