This Flu Season Will Be Worst in Decades: CDC

The 2019-20 influenza activity has exceeded the second deadliest and is close to hitting the deadliest season.

North Carolina has seen another flu death, bringing the number to ten so far this flu season.

The weekly update shows influenza activity is still widespread across the state. But they warned the states of Washington, New Mexico, Minnesota and Tennessee that it could be worse in those areas.

Dr. Virginia Caine, the Marion County Public Health Department Director, is asking that anyone with mild flu-like symptoms first go to their own doctor, a community health center or an urgent care center.

Because of the similar symptoms, people often can not differentiate flu with colds.
