Three People Shot in Westerly, According to Law Enforcement Sources

One person is dead and two others were hurt after a reported shooting at an apartment complex for seniors and people with disabilities in Westerly, Rhode Island, authorities confirmed. A 47-year-old employee of the facility was killed. The lockdowns have since been lifted, police said.

One of the victims is in critical condition at Westerly Hospital and is being transported to Yale New Haven Hospital in CT, according to Lacey.

According to multiple sources, the Rhode Island State Police and Westerly Police are investigating a shooting that took place on Cross Street in Westerly's Babcock Village.

The three victims were women, authorities said, and police said they are looking into possible connections between the suspect and victims. The other is undergoing surgery at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. Connecticut State Police are also covering the border in Connecticut and the Town of Stonington, which is next to Westerly, according to State Police Spokesperson Christine Jeltema. Later, classes were dismissed for the day and all after-school activities were canceled.

Westerly is a beachside town, about 100 kilometres southeast of Hartford, Connecticut.

San Antonio Police Department officials said in a statement that officers responded about 8:46 p.m. local time to the South Park Mall on the city's south side and found four people who had suffered gunshot wounds.
