Los Angeles Lakers at Miami Heat odds, picks and best bets

Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat host LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday.

The Miami Heat will face a familiar foe on Friday night as they welcome a familiar face back to South Beach for what is sure to be a tough game.

Los Angeles was without forward Kyle Kuzma (left ankle) for a second straight game, but backup point guard Rajon Rondo (hamstring) returned after missing two consecutive contests. Sportsbooks list the Lakers as five-point road favorites, up slightly from the opener, while the over-under, or total number of points Vegas thinks will be scored, is 214.5 in the latest Lakers vs. Heat odds. Davis had 12 points in the third and James added 10 as the Lakers built a slim 88-85 lead, setting up the final frantic minutes in the fourth. Las Angeles shoots just under 50 percent from the field, shooting 48.7 percent and rebound 45.4 boards a game.

There were five lead changes and four ties in a tight first quarter that finished with the Lakers on top, 30-29. Butler also averages seven assists a game for the Heat, who haven't lost at home. They'll need to win by at least 5, as they have in each of their last six victories.

World's oldest artwork discovered in Indonesia
There are at least 242 caves or shelters with ancient imagery in Sulawesi alone - and new sites are being discovered annually. Archaeologists have discovered what they believe to be the world's oldest cave art on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi.

Miami are 2-4 ATS in their last 6 games. Meanwhile, the Lakers are 12-1 on the road and have also covered the spread 16 times in their first 25 games.

Miami fans will be in their seats ready to watch the former Miami Heat legend take the court once again. Bosh, who had a courtside seat, was one of James' teammates when the Heat won National Basketball Association titles in 2012 and 2013 and reached the Finals in 2011 and 2014.

The model knows that the Heat have been lights-out at home this season, most recently pulling off a memorable comeback to topple the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday evening.

This is by far the biggest reason why the rumours will continue to swirl around the Heat as potential players in the trade market.
