At least one injured during active shooter situation at Dart Container Corp

Georgia authorities have arrested a man who allegedly shot dead a co-worker inside a plastic food and beverage container plant Friday morning.

Dart Container manufactures and distributes food-service products such as cups, plates, containers, lids and straws, at plants and centers across the country, including the Conyers plant, the company's website says.

Rockdale County Sheriff Eric Levett described the shooting as "workplace violence", but couldn't say for sure whether Cameron Golden, 18, specifically set out to kill victim Taurus Andrews.

"We don't even know if Mr. Andrews was a target" Levett said. Police are now looking for the man who fired the shots and has since left the plant, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The Rockdale County Sheriff's Office rushed to the scene, but the gunman had already fled.

At least three schools and the county school transportation offices were placed on lockdown, Rockdale County schools said on Twitter at 8:34 a.m. ET.

Authorities also shut down a local gas station and told Dion Spencer, one of the station's employees, to stay inside.

According to a statement from Dart Container Corp, the shooting happened around 7am and the building was evacuated.

'All I know was there was a lot of them out here, ' Spencer said.
