Donald Trump Pays $ 2 Million For Charity Fund Misuse

"Not only has the Trump Foundation shut down for its misconduct, but the president has been forced to pay $2 million for misusing charitable funds for his own political gain", James said in a statement.

"Charities are not a means to an end, which is why these damages speak for the President's misuse of power and are a victory for charitable organizations that follow the law", Democrat James said in a statement.

In her statement about the payout, James said her "office will continue to fight for accountability because no one is above the law - not a businessman, not a candidate for office and not even the president of the United States". The charities private been the Navy Emergency Relief, the Kid's Encourage Society, Citymeals-on-Wheels, Give an Hour, Martha's Desk, the United Negro Faculty Fund, the United Approach of National Capital Situation, and the US Holocaust Memorial Museum, in response to the assertion. The remaining $1.8 million held by the Donald J. Trump Foundation was also donated to these charities. Each charity receives approximately $ 476,000.

The Trump Foundation came under scrutiny by the Washington Post's David Fahrenthold, who tried to verify that the charity was making contributions.

Trump was accused of using the charity fund for buying portraits of himself, paying off his businesses' legal obligations, and finance his 2016 campaign. "I direct Mr Trump to pay the $2,000,000, which would have gone to the Foundation if it were still in existence", Judge Saliann Scarpulla wrote in the order. His three oldest children, who were all officials with the foundation, have also undergone "compulsory training to ensure this type of illegal activity never takes place again", according to the attorney general's office.

People in Scotland might soon be asked if they want to leave the United Kingdom and form an independent country. It can only do that by consent, therefore Scotland has to have the ability to decide that question.

Charity leaders are barred from using their nonprofits' money for deepest profit.

After Scarpulla's ruling last month, Trump assailed a series of Democratic attorneys general of NY who were involved with the suit, calling it "4 years of politically motivated harassment" and saying they should have spent their time investigating the Clinton Foundation.

The Trump Foundation agreed to dissolve in December 2018, and a November 2019 court order mandated that the President pay up the additional funds.

"The Trump Foundation, the charitable organization started by Trump in 1987, consented to disband at 2018 and give away its resources following a stunt by then-acting NY attorney general Barbara Underwood disclosed a" shocking pattern of illegality" that comprised" criminal coordination with the Trump presidential effort, repeated and deliberate self-dealing, plus far more".

The damages stemmed from the foundation's holding of a televised event in Iowa that raised funds that were actually distributed by the Trump campaign.
