Napoli Sack Manager Carlo Ancelotti After Weeks of Behind-the-Scenes Unrest

Ancelotti is widely expected to leave his post as Napoli coach following this evening's Champions League clash against Genk.

He took the Naples club to second-place Serie A finish in his first season in charge, but they were never really in the hunt for the title as Juventus streaked to an 11-point triumph.

Ancelotti's dismissal had been widely predicted by the Italian media who said Napoli had lined up Gennaro Gattuso, fired by AC Milan at the end of last season, as his replacement. Salzburg came third to qualify for the Europa League last 32.

Napoli is seventh in Serie A, 17 points behind league leader Inter Milan.

"I'm not sure if I'll be on the bench next Saturday, I hope to be and I'll talk to the president (Aurelio De Laurentiis) tomorrow to clarify matters". "The relations of friendship, esteem and mutual respect between the company, its president Aurelio De Laurentiis and Carlo Ancelotti remain intact".

"In Europe, we have seen another Napoli, the one I would like to see in the league as well".

Apple will appear at CES for the first time since 1992
Samsung was the first to announce it in their TVs followed by Sony and LG TVs among others. After nearly a 30-year absence, Apple is going to return to the CES technology show.

"They haven't said anything to me, I was just preparing the match".

They won their next three matches in all competitions - including a 2-0 victory over Champions League holders Liverpool - before losing 1-0 at home to Cagliari.

There was a downbeat mood right from the start of today's game when the hosts were greeted by a lukewarm reception, with the San Paolo stadium less than one quarter full.

Allan then sent Calderon through and he flicked the ball over Vandevoordt, was tripped and Milik converted from the spot.

Ancelotti, a three-time victor of the Champions League as a coach, has now been sacked by his last three clubs having previously been fired by both Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.
