Chelsea January Transfer Window 2020: Frank Lampard identifies 5 targets

Chelsea January Transfer Window 2020: Frank Lampard identifies 5 targets

The club's FIFA-imposed transfer ban was last week reduced on appeal by the Court of Arbitration for Sport, meaning they are free to sign players again.

Lampard has now suggested the club will look to fill the void left by Hazard's departure, as he bids to add an additional clinical edge to his developing, young team.

"There will be discussions that go on from now about where we can strengthen, because of course with Eden leaving we lost a lot of goals, a lot of creation in his particular position".

"I think we've found ways as a team where we can still be competitive".

"But going forward if we're looking at if we can get even better".

Frank Lampard may have discovered a future Chelsea captain by allowing a number of academy stars to step up to the senior fold, according to Chris Sutton.

When it is finally clear how it plans to work, it seems highly unlikely that citizens will get larger pensions instead of smaller ones.

"No, I don't think it is a concern at all".

Jadon Sancho and Wilfried Zaha have been linked with moves to Stamford Bridge in recent weeks and Lampard said he was considering his options.

"Overall it's a great young team and everybody wants to play for the side, and that comes down to what Frank and Jody [Morris] have done - everybody wants to play for them". I want them all to get better and they will improve, for sure, because of their ages and where they are with their development.

Guardiola recently told reporters that he "doesn't want" to make additions to his squad in January but admitted 'when an incredible opportunity comes in January for the next four or five or six years, maybe we can think about it'.

"But I think it was quite clear in the summer that you lose Eden Hazard, who was a huge part of scoring or creating our goals last season and the season before that, the high level of player he is". The French club will arrive at Stamford Bridge with seemingly nothing to play for, as they are bottom of Group H of the Champions League and can not qualify for the Europa League.
