Arsenal interview Paulo Sousa for the team's head coaching role

Arsenal have got in touch with former Swansea manager Paulo Sousa's entourage over their vacant managerial role, according to reports.

Emery saw Everton's majority investor Farhad Moshiri and chairman Bill Kenwright in London.

Arsenal's game against relegation battling side Norwich ended in 2-2 stalemate, while the game against Brighton ended in another embarrassing 2-1 loss, summing up Gunners' worst outing in last 27 years.

The Gunners are still without a manager after getting rid of the Spaniard, and while Freddie Ljungberg led the side to their first win as interim manager on Monday night against West Ham, he isn't their long-term solution.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that Mikel Arteta reportedly emerged Arsenal's top choice candidate to take over as club boss permanently.

Charismatic central banker and author of the 'Volcker rule' dies
Born September 5, 1927, in Cape May, New Jersey, Volcker was educated at Princeton, Harvard and the London School of Economics . Volcker carried out massive credit tightening to contain the soaring prices, pushing interest rates up to around 20 percent.

The Gunners have accelerated their efforts to find a permanent boss to replace Ljungberg who's doing his best to hold the team together during its torrid stretch.

They told L'Equipe: "They like his profile as a coach but also as a person - we've been blown away". This does not mean that he will leave.

'They are in talks with multiple candidates but Paulo is part of that list, certainly.

"With all the problems at Bordeaux, why wouldn't he leave?"

The north London side are now in ninth place in the Premier League table and seven points behind fourth-placed Chelsea FC as they look to climb the league during the hectic festive period. The 49-year-old Portuguese global also won the league in Israel and Switzerland, including a successful Europa League qualification for Hungarian side Videoton.
