Woman allegedly stung by scorpion during United Airlines flight

The incident was first reported Saturday by the website TMZ, which published a photo of a scorpion in a box featuring United Airlines branding.

Also in February, a scorpion stung a woman on an Air Transat flight from Toronto to Calgary. A female passenger who felt a stinging sensation reportedly inspected herself in the aircraft's bathroom, only to discover a scorpion in the leg of her trousers.

The passenger was traveling on flight 1554 from San Francisco to Atlanta on Thursday, United spokeswoman Natalie Noonan said in a statement.

When the aircraft landed at 06:37 EST, paramedics were on hand to transport the woman to a local hospital where they would be able to treat her for the scorpion stings. "United did not respond to an SFGate request for additional information".

Thanking his wife, actress Jessica Walter , he quipped: "Maybe we can get an apartment with a washer-dryer now". Leibman is survived by his wife, Arrested Development star Jessica Walter , and stepdaughter, Brooke Bowman.

A routine flight across the United States came to resemble a scene from a freaky Hollywood film after a passenger was bitten by a scorpion. After feeling a "throbbing sensation" in the leg, he went to the bathroom to check it out.

It not yet clear how the scorpion got inside the woman's trousers or on the flight.

The crew aboard "responded immediately" and consulted with a doctor on the ground, and the flight was met with medical personnel upon landing. The airline said in a statement that after realizing that one of the customers on flight 1554 from San Francisco to Atlanta was stung, their crew took actions immediately and consulted with a MedLink physician on the ground who provided medical aid. "We have been in contact with our client to guarantee their well-being".
