Pakistan recall forgotten Alam for SL Tests; Anderson back for SA tour

An inexperienced Pakistan side were comfortably whitewashed by Australia in the two-Test series Down Under last month.

Alam last played a Test match against New Zealand at Dunedin in 2009, eight months after a terrorist attack on the Sri Lanka team bus at Lahore that shut the doors of global cricket on Pakistan. The left-hander has been in red-hot form during the ongoing Quaid-e-Azam Trophy and was justly rewarded with a place in the Pakistan team. He accumulated 781 runs at an impressive average of 71 in the competition, racking up four hundreds and six fifties.

The first Test starts in Rawalpindi from Wednesday, a match that marks the return of Test cricket to Pakistan after ten years.

The second Test will be played in Karachi from Dec.19.

Fawad has so far played three Tests for Pakistan in which he has scored 250 runs, including one century. Along with, he has also represented the Males in Inexperienced in 38 ODIs and 24 T20Is.
